Green Cabin: a website that makes you hungry

Green Cabin is a Sri Lankan pastry house. I designed its website around the one thing that sells pastries: photographs of them. A warm palette and friendly type make the site feel as welcoming as the shop, and its restaurant sub-brand gets an identity of its own.

The Green Cabin home page: cakes, doughnuts and bread around the headline Irresistible baked goods bring out the child in everyone, with the brand story behind it.

Every section leads with a photograph, because a picture of a cake does more than any sentence about one. The colour palette and type are warm and unfussy, so the site feels like the shop.

A sub-brand with Sri Lankan roots

The restaurant, Cyril Rodrigo's Green Cabin, needed to feel related but distinct. I adapted the design language with traditional Sri Lankan patterns, blending the modern site with the heritage and cooking behind the name.

Pages for Cyril Rodrigo's Green Cabin restaurant: dining, event catering and a call to try the menu, on a background of traditional Sri Lankan patterns.
